Mr. Steele was wrong about Savannah State football
Whoops. Well, here's my comeuppance. Please don't hurt me, Opio! Not mentioned in the video, because I didn't know it at the time, is that Pro Football Hall of Famer (and former Tiger) Shannon Sharpe will be in town for Savannah State's home opener this Saturday, Oct. 1st, kickoff at 7:00pm. Sweet!

My entry for Effingham Beat Poetry Night
My sow, my sow
She didn't win the blue ribbon how?
No, not the cow, not the cow!
Not the 10-year-old with the brown cow!
Sigh....get me that plow now
Gonna plow some smack down, and how
Brain that cow with the plow
Then plow that kid six feet under! Wow!
And now?
There's them ribbons
Here's the stage, the chamPEEEENS!
The cane syrup maker, cow chip BINGO winner,
Corn liq....errrr, corn product maker
And me!
And my sow
My sow, my sow!

Thank You, Veterans!
Mr. Dan Gillespie is now 87, and fortunately for me is now a dear friend. He also just happened to help build the "Fat Man" atomic bomb that was dropped on Nagasaki, August 9, 1945. I didn't do much that was truly worthwhile on the old radio show, but this interview from Veterans Day two years ago is one of my most valued treasures, among the best radio moments of my life.
Thank you, Mr. Gillespie, for your service that helped save the world, and thanks to all of our Veterans who are the reason we are all free.
